THE old victoria ground boothen END.
'Give me a shirt forever, on the steps where I used to dream, In that corrugated shed of a fortress where the crowd became part of the team.' [from a poem by J Bennett.]
This picture of the Boothen End may not be much to look at, but to me and countless other 'Stokies' , it is everything we are and have ever wanted to be. Being a 'Stokie' is one thing, being a 'Boothen-Ender' is something entirely different. In the page 'How It Started', I have reproduced an article I wrote for our fanzine, 'The Oatcake', which will tell you more about this place and what it has meant to me. I make no apologies for telling you that this place, which has now been confined to the history books, has been a great inspiration in my life.
Gooooaaaarrrrnnnnn Stoke!
