"EXPRESSIONS OF THE SOUL."

Poetry is very personal. My poems are those which describe certain events which have happened in my life. Others have just popped into my head and I've jotted them down as I've gone along. Perhaps the words of that great bard, Longfellow, describe best what I feel about poetry. Here, from my favorite poet, is my favorite poem.

Come, read to me some poem,

A simple and heartfelt lay,

That will soothe this restless feeling,

And banish the thoughts of day.

Come, read from the treasured volume

The poem of thy choice,

And lend to the rhyme of the poet

The beauty of thy voice.

And the night shall be filled with music,

And the cares that infest the day

Shall fold their tents, like the Arabs

And as silently steal away.
